MODENT

·        Major new modal analysis option - Output-only modal analysis (OMA) for cases where the excitation force is not known

·        Faster and more accurate MIMO modal analysis

·        Improved  FRF noise elimination algorithm

·        Multi-FRF modal analysis has following features:

o      Improved mode shape listing

o      Solid & line contours for mode shape plots/animations

o      Individual co-ordinate selection for mode shape plots/animations

o      Much improved nodal line calculation

o      Bode fit, in addition to Nyquist fit

o      No need to replot FRFs between analyses, resulting in very fast turn around

WHAT WAS NEW IN MODENT 2004?

When it was released in December 2004

 

MODENT

·          New MIMO modal analysis option - MIMO-FIT, based on frequency-domain least-squares, allows curve-fitting across several row or column FRF measurements.

·          New noise elimination option - Based on SVD smoothing of a Hankel matrix formed by FRF data, the option cleans-up a set of FRF files and produces a filtered set for further analysis.

·          New MIMO mode indicator functions

·          New features in MODENT

o         Display of curve-fit in Bode plot – previously Nyquist plot only

o         Maximum no of modes in one analysis increased to 40

o         Mode shape list now produces a “star-burst” plot to assess modal complexity

o         Facility to delete mode from the “stored mode” list

o         Improved and re-located animation window

o         Cosmetic changes to NLLS-1 & NLLS-2 output

 

MODESH

·       Improved Modify option for speed and visualisation of very low-amplitude response

·       Re-written Convert option with many comparison plots between complex & realised sets

MESHGEN

·       Major re-write of MESHGEN for better and easier mesh generation

·       Pre-processor to ICATS FE option FINES with material & real property support

MODPLAN

UTILITY PROGRAMS

·       MAPGEN has been re-written for automatic mapping of nodes and co-ordinates

·       EIG_UTIL has been re-written by re-grouping its options. Many options to reduce .EIG file size
