2) DATA FILES

   - THE INDIVIDUAL DATA FILE FORMATS REMAIN UNCHANGED (SINCE 1985!)

   - HOWEVER, THE FUNCTIONALITY OF THE .PRJ FILE EXTENDED

     BY THE POSSIBILITY OF ADDING .EIG & .TIM FILES.

   - NEW UTILITY PROGRAM MAKE_PRJ WILL CREATE A .PRJ FILE

     BY SIMPLY BROWSING THROUGH EXISTING FILES.

   - BECAUSE OF ITS EXTENDED FUNCTIONALITY, MANY OPTIONS IN MODENT,

4) MODENT CHANGES

     IT IS NOW POSSIBLE TO ANALYSE GENERAL RESPONSE (IE NOT FRF)

     MEASUREMENTS IN THE SAME WAY AS FRF MEASUREMENTS.

   - CO-ORDINATE MIS-LABELLING IN .EIG FILE AFTER MODAL ANALYSIS

UFF Type 58 time data files. See Appendix D (UFF support) and Utilities

It is now possible to zoom into the FRF box to see the stability plots

in detail . See MODENT User's Guide for details.

 

3) MODENT OMA analysis

The functionality has been enhanced with the addition of the following

- Ability to select any part of the time record for analysis

- Ability to see linear or log dB modulus of the frequency domain response.

1) THE SUBDIRECTORY STRUCTURE FOR THE PROGRAMS HAS BEEN CHANGED AS FOLLOWS:
THERE IS ONE MAIN SUBDIRECTORY \ICATS AND THE REMAINING SUBDIRECTORIES ARE
OFF \ICATS (EG \ICATS\FONTS, \ICATS\ANIM, etc.)
\ICATS DOES NOT NEED TO BE OFF THE ROOT DIRECTORY AS BEFORE. 
HOWEVER, IF IT IS NOT, FILE MOD.CFG MUST BE EDITED ACCORDINGLY.

2) THE DISTRIBUTION DISKS ARE NOW IN PACKED FORM SO THAT THE (PROVIDED) INSTALLATION FILE MUST BE USED TO INSTALL THE PROGRAMS ON THE HARD DISK.

   - THE LIMIT ON THE MAX NUMBER OF CO-ORDINATES HAS BEEN INCREASED.
   - THE LIMIT ON THE MAX NUMBER OF NODES HAS BEEN INCREASED.
   - THE LEFT HAND WINDOW CAN DEAL WITH
         600 NODES (WITH UP TO 6 DOFS EACH)
         4096 CO-ORDS AND FIRST 4 MODES OR
         2048 CO-ORDS AND FIRST 8 MODES OR
         1024 CO-ORDS AND FIRST 16 MODES FOR REAL MODESHAPES AND HALF AS MANY CO-ORDINATES FOR COMPLEX MODESHAPES. NOTE THAT THESE FIGURES   ARE FOR GUIDANCE PURPOSES AND THE ACTUAL ALLOCATION IS DYNAMIC.
   - THE RIGHT HAND WINDOW IS LIMITED TO 400 NODES.

3) OPTION COMPARE CAN NOW HANDLE COMPLEX MODE SHAPES FOR MAC CALCULATIONS BUT THE TWO MODELS MUST BE OF THE SAME SIZE.
